[Read About Natural Seizure Care] KI was a neglected dog by the breeder. She had mange as a puppy and the breeder didn't want anyone to know so she was locked in a small kennel for about six months. We rescued Ki and with help from the vet she out grew her mange immunity, She was a very dominate dog when we got her, but over the last six months has calmed down and is very loving, pushy, but loving. She gets along fine with my 2 year old grandson, but she is a big hyper dog so an accident is possible although we have never had one. She sits and stays when she wants to, is protective of the back yard to strangers, but nothing but love for us ... (Read More)and our three other small dogs. Cats, Rats, and rabbits are only welcome at dinner time. And I mean that. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting an Akita in Arkansas
Akita Dogs can make good pets in Arkansas if they match your IifestyIe. The Akita Inu, or Japanese Akita, is a large Spitz-type breed of dog. Akitas are intelligent, companionable animals and make excellent guard dogs. Akitas are willful and need firm training. Akitas are protective of children in their own families, but may be aggressive toward outsiders and should be supervised with small kids. Akitas may bite if provoked; they need to be treated with gentleness and respect. Akitas can live in an apartment but do need sufficient exercise; they do best with a large yard.
