I can text a picture if interested. Many questions I do not know how to respond, but I can get additional information. His owner is dead, but her daughter has been feeding and watering him and seeing that he gets out for over 6 months while she is in and out of the hospital and long term care facilities.     I have a 8 year old purebred Akita. She needs more room to run than I can allow her. She doesn't do well with small dogs and she has not been around dogs her size to know how she would do with them. She is calm mannered, but needs someone who can give her the attention and space to run that she deserves.

PIease Read Before Adopting an Akita in Indiana
Akita Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Akita Inu, or Japanese Akita, is a large Spitz-type breed of dog. Akitas are intelligent, companionable animals and make excellent guard dogs. Akitas are willful and need firm training. Akitas are protective of children in their own families, but may be aggressive toward outsiders and should be supervised with small kids. Akitas may bite if provoked; they need to be treated with gentleness and respect. Akitas can live in an apartment but do need sufficient exercise; they do best with a large yard.
