Rescue Me ID: 17-09-12-00499Rambo (male)
Rambo is a 4-5 year old male with single female unhealthy owner who died last weekend. He needs a home. He has some type of skin condition above his tail, so he has bald spots on his back. I can text a picture if interested. Many questions I do not know how to respond, but I can get additional information. His owner is dead, but her daughter has been feeding and watering him and seeing that he gets out for over 6 months while she is in and out of the hospital and long term care facilities. He has not had much attention for a long time and really needs a good, loving home.

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-26-00221Apollo (male)
Apollo is looking for a home with a woman, no kids or men living in the home. He is 2 years old. He needs an experienced Akita owner who knows the breeds in & outs. I rescued him off of the streets a few months ago. He was very skinny with hair loss do to a flea allergy. I've treated the fleas & his hairs already growing back. He is not microchipped. I plan on getting his shots updated & neutering him before I re-home him. He is protective of his home environment as akitas are known to do. Great on the leash & loves walks, car rides & belly rubs. Potty trained & hasnt tore anything up in the house. This beautiful boy needs a 2nd chance in a loving home where he can show how much love he has to offer. He will only go to an approved home. Price is negotiable to right home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-18-00540Koko (female)
I have a 8 year old purebred Akita. She needs more room to run than I can allow her. She doesn't do well with small dogs and she has not been around dogs her size to know how she would do with them. She is calm mannered, but needs someone who can give her the attention and space to run that she deserves.

Akita Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Akita Inu, or Japanese Akita, is a large Spitz-type breed of dog. Akitas are intelligent, companionable animals and make excellent guard dogs. Akitas are willful and need firm training. Akitas are protective of children in their own families, but may be aggressive toward outsiders and should be supervised with small kids. Akitas may bite if provoked; they need to be treated with gentleness and respect. Akitas can live in an apartment but do need sufficient exercise; they do best with a large yard.
