Rescue Me ID: 15-09-22-00735Yoshi (female)

Akita Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Yoshi was an owner surrender at a local animal shelter was she would've surely been put down. She's a very big girl who doesn't realize her size. A bit on the goofy side, playful, sweet and loving. She would do best in a home with older children because of her size. She does well on a leash, housebroken, crate trained and also rides well. Would do best with a family that has large dog experience.

CURRENTLY IN NC UNTIL 2/3/16, THEN WILL BE IN MS. Hey guys, this is Semper. He's an Akita/German Shepherd mix. He was rescued from an abusive situation that resulted in his right front leg being amputated. He was originally from MS and was transported to NC to be adopted. The home lasted for about 1 month. Most of the family loved him, but their youngest was afraid of him due to his size. Will be transported back to MS on 2-3-16 unless another home is found beforehand and his transport will be diverted elsewhere. This big boy is an absolute teddy bear! As you can see he loves to play and wrestle. He does settle down after a bit and would ... (Read More)make a great family companion. He loves to play with large breed female dogs that are just as playful as him, but will put him in his place if he gets too frisky ;). I would also recommend, due to his boisterous nature, that he be placed with a family that has older teens or no kids at all. Little ones will get knocked over and could get hurt. He is very smart and can still be trained. He's about 5 years old, neutered and UTD on vaccines. Not to be placed with a family that won't let him inside. This poor boy has had it rough, and still in the rescue system for over 2 years. He's well overdue for his perfect forever home. PIease Read Before Adopting an Akita in Mississippi
Akita Dogs can make good pets in Mississippi if they match your IifestyIe. The Akita Inu, or Japanese Akita, is a large Spitz-type breed of dog. Akitas are intelligent, companionable animals and make excellent guard dogs. Akitas are willful and need firm training. Akitas are protective of children in their own families, but may be aggressive toward outsiders and should be supervised with small kids. Akitas may bite if provoked; they need to be treated with gentleness and respect. Akitas can live in an apartment but do need sufficient exercise; they do best with a large yard.
