Akita Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Hey guys, this is Semper. He's an Akita/German Shepherd mix. He was rescued from an abusive situation that resulted in his right front leg being amputated. He and several other Cheshire Abbey dogs are currently in my care to help with socialization and keeping the Abbey's boarding bills low. This big boy is an absolute teddy bear! As you can see he loves to play and wrestle. He does settle down after a bit and would make a great family companion. He does, however, need to be the only dog in the family. I would also recommend, due to his boisterous nature, that he be placed with a family that has older kids. Little ones will get knocked over ... (Read More)and could get hurt. He is very smart and can still be trained. He's about 3-4 years old, neutered and UTD on vaccines. Not to be placed with a family that won't let him inside. PIease Read Before Adopting an Akita in Mississippi
Akita Dogs can make good pets in Mississippi if they match your IifestyIe. The Akita Inu, or Japanese Akita, is a large Spitz-type breed of dog. Akitas are intelligent, companionable animals and make excellent guard dogs. Akitas are willful and need firm training. Akitas are protective of children in their own families, but may be aggressive toward outsiders and should be supervised with small kids. Akitas may bite if provoked; they need to be treated with gentleness and respect. Akitas can live in an apartment but do need sufficient exercise; they do best with a large yard.
