Zion is her name. She is a black and white Akita. I have had her since she was a puppy. She has been raised with children 12 years old and up. She is very lovable and playful. Unfortunately she is Not a good dog for small children. She has been loved, cared for and played with. We just don't have the time to devote to her that she needs and deserves. We have done some training with her and she is teachable and smart, we just don't have the time to do it consistently. She will need training. She is house broke though.

I was a good boy I didn't potty in the house or bother the cats. I see my mates at the shelter get picked by families but I don't. Could you pick me??

PIease Read Before Adopting an Akita in Missouri
Akita Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. The Akita Inu, or Japanese Akita, is a large Spitz-type breed of dog. Akitas are intelligent, companionable animals and make excellent guard dogs. Akitas are willful and need firm training. Akitas are protective of children in their own families, but may be aggressive toward outsiders and should be supervised with small kids. Akitas may bite if provoked; they need to be treated with gentleness and respect. Akitas can live in an apartment but do need sufficient exercise; they do best with a large yard.
