|Rescue Me ID: 14-11-21-00328Mya (female)|
Mya is a 5 year old mix breed whom I rescued when she was 1 year old from a neglect situation. She is incredibly obedient and very well house broken. Once a relationship is established she listens very well. She is fairly high energy and slightly aggressive toward strangers outside of her home/space, she is slightly dominant of her turf. She is an independent dog and is ok around adults she becomes familiar with, but she has never been around kids. I would be willing to assist with her adoption. She needs to be re-homed because I am moving to a non pet friendly location.

Akita Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Akita Inu, or Japanese Akita, is a large Spitz-type breed of dog. Akitas are intelligent, companionable animals and make excellent guard dogs. Akitas are willful and need firm training. Akitas are protective of children in their own families, but may be aggressive toward outsiders and should be supervised with small kids. Akitas may bite if provoked; they need to be treated with gentleness and respect. Akitas can live in an apartment but do need sufficient exercise; they do best with a large yard.
