Meet Sadie, she is a 6 year old MOSTLY AKITA MIXED BREED PUP about 60 lbs. Akitas are best with adults only, no cats. She is friendly, but needs a human family whom can give her direction and love. She has a lot of anxiety because her current family has grown causing her a lot of stress which is not good for her. She would most likely be best as an only dog though she may get along with other non strong-willed breeds (due to anxiety she has gotten into fights with her current bully bred dog sister). She is a great walker and running partner, house broken, fixed, AND NOW UP TO DATE WITH SHOTS AND HEARTWORM. I am helping in order to make sure ... (Read More)she goes to a good home.     Purebred American Akita. Tricolor sable. Will be 6 years old in November. He was raised with a miniature daschund but compatibility with other animals is unknown. He's a big baby, spoiled and does not want to be outside for very long unless his people are with him. He has been raised on Earthborn Holistic dog food and the only treats he's fed are milkbone treats. He loves car rides and shadowing his humans. I am moving and cannot take him to with me.

PIease Read Before Adopting an Akita in Tennessee
Akita Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Akita Inu, or Japanese Akita, is a large Spitz-type breed of dog. Akitas are intelligent, companionable animals and make excellent guard dogs. Akitas are willful and need firm training. Akitas are protective of children in their own families, but may be aggressive toward outsiders and should be supervised with small kids. Akitas may bite if provoked; they need to be treated with gentleness and respect. Akitas can live in an apartment but do need sufficient exercise; they do best with a large yard.
